A pair of sock earrings

REALLY!

I made this pair of socks in 2003.
They were knitted with Plymouth Sockotta (75% superwash wool/25% poly-something or other) on #00000 steel wires.
Just like any pair of socks, they were knitted in the round, have shaped heels...might fit Barbie.

There is a warning I would like to put out...those steels slip out easily, and let me tell you, they are sharp...one made it's way 4/5 into the seat cushion just on the initial fall out of the work.
I would NOT want to step or sit on one.

After that pair I tried to use red/green embroidery thread (DMC 6 ply) to make a pair for my MIL...never again. There is no stretch/give to that thread, and my eyes were BURNING from trying to see what I was doing. I literally had to take a week break in between making those two socks.
